Earlier in the season the Bears lost their second year linebacker to a peck injury. Today Ryan Pace indicated that Roquan Smith’s surgery was successful and that the goal is for him to be back for training camp.
Roquan Smith finished the season with 101 total tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 interception in just 12 games.
Pace also addressed Trey Burton’s bizarre 2019 season, stating he had surgery on his hip and that they believe the time table for him to return will be also be aimed for training camp. When asked about what went wrong for Burton during the season, Pace calmly stated they just never felt he was able to get 100% right.
