We’re just 18 days away from the NFL Draft, where the Bears hold the first and ninth picks. While it’s widely expected that they’ll choose USC star quarterback Caleb Williams with the first pick, the ninth pick is still up in the air. The team’s plans for this pick are uncertain, with several possible directions they could take. One intriguing possibility is selecting one of the top wide receivers in the draft if players like Marvin Harrison Jr, Malik Nabers, or Rome Odunze are still available. Rome Odunze, in particular, has been frequently mentioned in several mock drafts. ESPN’s Courtney Cronin reported some interesting comments from Odunze regarding Caleb Williams and the potential of playing together at the next level.
“I got to see Caleb first hand.. I got to see his talents and abilities. So definitely, I know he’s a student of the game and someone who brings a lot of passion and a lot of desire to the game. So, of course, to be paired up with him would be something special.”
Rome Odunze Is A Fan Of DJ Moore’s Game
In a separate conversation with NBC Sports Chicago, Odunze spoke highly of DJ Moore and expressed interest in the idea of playing alongside the talented 26-year-old wide receiver.
“He’s a dog.. I mean he just doesn’t go down. His balance to maintain it through catches and stay on his feet and get those extra yards, it’s one of the highlights of his game. He’s smaller, but he has the speed, the physicality of a bigger receiver. He’s exciting to watch.”
Chicago is the ideal destination for Rome Odunze. Being able to learn and play alongside established star receivers like DJ Moore and now Keenan Allen would only benefit his development in the NFL. If everything goes perfectly, the Bears could potentially have the chance to draft, or even trade up a spot or two, ensuring they secure one of the top wide receivers in this year’s draft.

I know tomwaddletoldya yaks a lot of nonsense but he’s not wrong in what he’s pointing out here. Some reflect on the Kevin White part but the others were all can’t miss prospects and historically there’s many others so it can’t be brushed off. Chances are they will all be very good but there’s no guarantee that at least one won’t be a bust.
Effing NONSENSE! There are no Purple chip players. The best of the best are Blue chippers. Always have been and always will be. Consider a Blue ribbon at the county fair. There are multiple ribbons awarded and BTW, purple is 7th place. Go ahead and look up Blue chipper and then look up purple chipper on the internet, I’ll wait. I hope you have a lot of branches to mulch.Yeah, I know this comment is a complete waste of time but ya get tired of reading stupid crap these days from dopes thinking there are reinventing the wheel. Trust me with the new kick off rules, the game is changing very quickly. It’s likely that with the right special teams and KO returner, teams will be starting in the best average field position in many years. Maybe, just maybe, this salvaged a role for speedsters like Velus Jones, JR. Good field position for both teams will be even more enhanced with the changes to the hip drop tackle rules making it more difficult for defenses. Scoring is going to be a defensive strategy more than ever. KO returns to the 40 and then 3 and out? I realize… Read more »
One thing that seems to be missing when we discuss this is the perpetual lack of high-end offensive players for the Bears in the past few years. When the draft screams offense like a Chicago Cub hot dog vendor yells red hots, buy one. Yes we need an Edge and we need more depth in the interior line on both sides of the ball, but the key to sustainability is to never let our stash of playmakers dwindle like we have in recent years. And offense always seems to be the one that goes in the dumper first. Some argue… Read more »
Drafting a WR at #9, he would be no better than a WR3 his first year, and still compete with Kmet for opportunities, as well as Swift out of the backfield. He won’t be the WR1 on this years team, and the bigger need is DL. The Bears can trade back five to six spots, get extra draft picks and grab Verse to bookend with Sweat. There’s more benefit in that move, that will help BOTH sides of the ball. Better field position, shorter fields, more Red Zone opportunities. IMO I think the Bears will work an extension out for… Read more »
