Recapping The Bears’ Moves As Poles Continues To Cook

Officially, the new league year is less than 48 hours old. Ryan Poles has made a flurry of roster moves as he continues to build this team into a playoff-caliber roster. His biggest splash leading up to the beginning of the free agency period was re-signing their All-Pro CB Jaylon Johnson. He was just beginning.

Here is a current list of all signings and trades made:

  • -Released S Eddie Jackson and OG/C Cody Whitehair
  • -Traded for OG/C Ryan Bates (Sent a 2024 4th)
  • -Placed franchise tag on DB Jaylon Johnson
  • -Extended DB Jaylon Johnson to a 4-year contract
  • -Signed DB Tarvarius Moore to a 1-year contract
  • -Extended LS Patrick Scales to a 1-year contract
  • -Signed S Kevin Byard to a 2-year contract
  • -Signed QB Brett Rypien to a 1-year contract
  • -Signed OL Matt Pryoer to a 1-ear contract
  • -Signed DB Jonathan Owens to a 2-year contract
  • -Signed TE Gerald Everett to a 2-year contract
  • -Signed LB Amen Ogbongbemiga to a 1-year contract
  • -Signed C Coleman Shelton to a 1-year contract
  • -Traded for WR Keenan Allen (Sent a 2024 4th)
  • -Signed WR/PR/KR Dante Pettis to a 1-year contract

Justin Fields Trade Rumor To Watch

Immediately after the Pittsburgh Steelers announce they had traded QB Kenny Pickett to the Eagles, trade rumors started again. Pittsburgh was one of the teams mentioned during the Scouting Combine. Now that the Steelers need another backup, the obvious rumors began.

, Shopping and Listening are two different things. I think the Bears would be happy to move Justin for the “right price” but being that they are not in cap trouble, they have no need to move him for what could amount to nothing.

, Both Allen and Williams have been prone to injury in their respective careers but Williams tore his ACL last year which is a pretty serious question mark. If it wasn’t for that he would have been scooped up already, much like Connor Williams. I hope the best for him but the jury is still out.
