Radio Host Suggests Matt Nagy is Trying to Sabotage Trubisky

-

When an NFL team is losing, people are going to look for scapegoats. That is inevitable. This guy stinks. That guy stinks. They all stink. Until the winning returns, this will not change. Chicago Bears fans have reached that point. They’re done with Mitch Trubisky and believe he’s no longer salvageable as a starting NFL quarterback. However, now many of them have begun calling out head coach Matt Nagy for his inability to adjust the offense to things that Trubisky does well.

Namely, get him on the move and outside the pocket.

Some people though have begun to take things into the realm of fringe science and conspiracy theory One such idea came forward on The Pat McAfee Show, a popular radio and podcast program that covers all things NFL alongside former All-Pro punter Pat McAfee. They certainly pulled out the big guns when they offered something completely out of left field.

Ty Schmit, who produces and co-hosts the show with McAfee, decided to go for the moon shot when he posed this question.

Subscribe to the BFR Youtube channel and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.

“Do you think it’s possible that Nagy in Chicago is doing this with Trubisky because it’s not his guy necessarily? It’s Pace’s guy and he’s like, ‘Alright this guy stinks. He’s bad. So let’s put him in a situation where I know he’s not going to be successful and then we don’t have to worry about re-signing him at the end of the season.'”

Matt Nagy has way more integrity than that

Look, the bottom line is this. If Nagy truly didn’t believe Trubisky was worth his time, the kid would be on the bench. Plain and simple. He coaches the team and he decides the depth chart. He clearly feels Trubisky still gives them the best chance to win on Sundays. To think he’d actively start him each week with the intent of running a game plan that will ensure he fails makes no sense. Why? Mostly because that tactic puts himself in danger as well. It makes him look like an idiot who has no idea how to craft a successful offense.

Such a tactic can be a dangerous way of thinking. One that might get him fired if things continue to progress as they have. So no, Nagy is not trying sabotage Trubisky to get him out of Chicago. That’s ridiculous. Conspiracy theories are fun but that’s mostly because they have a degree of logic behind them. This one does not.
