Prince Amukamara is a veteran. He’s been around the league for a long time. He has a Super Bowl ring and has seen both the good and bad ends of quarterback play. If anybody has a right to feel a little embittered and disillusioned about Mitch Trubisky, it’s him. The Chicago Bears defense was put into a lot of bad spots in 2019 because the quarterback didn’t hold up his end of the bargain. Sure enough, TMZ took their opportunity to pounce on Amukamara to ask him about the embattled 25-year old.
True to form though, the cornerback maintained his composure. It would’ve been so easy for him to say something from the heart. Something a lot of his teammates might be feeling. Instead, he smiled and stated clearly for the record that Trubisky is their guy. In spite of his struggles, Amukamara has seen the kind of work and dedication the young quarterback has applied to his craft. That is a big reason why nobody has lost faith in him.
While he’s glad he isn’t in the position GM Ryan Pace is, he is fully prepared for Trubisky to be back in 2020 and will back his quarterback 100%.
