People Are Reportedly Fed Up With Luke Getsy In Las Vegas

-

One of the more controversial decisions the Chicago Bears made when the year began was firing offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. While his unit hadn’t been anything special over the previous two years, he’d done a great job crafting a dominant rushing attack around Justin Fields. Starting over on offense with a new coordinator just as Caleb Williams was coming in felt like a dangerous risk. However, head coach Matt Eberflus stated that his goal was elevating the passing game. He didn’t think that could be done with Getsy.

That didn’t stop the Las Vegas Raiders from hiring him for the same position shortly after his departure. Head coach Antonio Pierce felt he had the qualities the organization wanted. Fast-forward a few months, and it sounds like they might be regretting that decision. Tony Pauline of Sportskeedia shared more details.

And while the players still back Pierce, poor quarterback play and equally bad coaching from many of his assistants has led to the present situation, which is a team with a 2-5 record that must face the Kansas City Chiefs twice in the next five weeks.

League sources have blasted offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and tell me he is responsible for the poor play of the unit he oversees. The inconsistency of quarterbacks Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew has reminded many of Getsy’s past. The prior two seasons, Getsy held the same position with the Chicago Bears and was bashed for his inability to develop Justin Fields, the 2021 first-round pick the team traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason for a sixth-round pick.

Luke Getsy is having the same problem as his time in Chicago.

His passing game is struggling, with only six touchdowns to 10 interceptions. The key difference this time is the running game is equally bad, ranking 30th in the NFL. Not all of this is his fault. Las Vegas let star running back Josh Jacobs walk in free agency, replacing him with Alexander Mattison. That is a huge downgrade. However, his inability to get decent play out of Gardner Minshew is telling. Last season, the veteran stepped in for an injured Anthony Richardson and made the Pro Bowl. He went 7-6, threw for 3300 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He should’ve been at least serviceable for the Raiders, but Luke Getsy has gotten him off to the worst start of his career. Davante Adams was a big supporter of the assistant coach in Green Bay. He couldn’t get out of Las Vegas fast enough, though. That says a lot.

Definition of insanity; doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Alternative definition; Luke Getsy!

Getsy was another Poles-Flus critical error that lasted too long and helped fail Justin. Never forget! Let’s see what Shane serves up in DC. It better be good.

I’ve made $84,000 so far this month working online and I’m a full time student. I’m using an online business opportunity I heard about and I’ve made such great money. It’s really user friendly and I’m just so happy that I found out about it. The potential with this is endless.

Here’s what I do. . . . . . .>>> Work60.Com

The bye week is almost over and not too soon. The last two Bears write-ups on this site are about Kristin Cavallari and Luke Getsy.

I’m going to take two ibuprofen now.
