New Bears UDFA Ian Bunting Made an Actual Music Video

-

A lot of people didn’t know who Ian Bunting was when the Chicago Bears signed him as an undrafted free agent. All one can figure out is he spent three years on the bench at Michigan before transferring to Cal in 2018 where he had a few modestly bright moments across seven appearances. The one thing that sticks out about him is his size.

Bunting is 6’7, 255 lbs. He also seems to be a good athlete. He delivered a 10-feet, one-inch broad jump at his pro day. Word is he also impressed at the Bears local pro day before the draft. Something he was able to attend being a native of Hinsdale, Illinois. As it turns out though, if Bunting can’t make it as a football player he may have interests in a fallback profession.

While at Michigan, it seems the tight end decided to dabble in music. Specifically hip-hop. There’s proof of that on YouTube as he made and released his own music video titled “Be Back” alongside some of his teammates. It’s certainly something.

Ian Bunting might be best served avoiding music for awhile

Nobody is going to say Bunting is the next Eminem but it’s clear he has other passions besides football. Is that a good or a bad thing? It is good for his post-football life which is far longer. However, when it comes to his chances of making it in the NFL? Perhaps this might explain why he never reached his full potential in college.

Harsh as that sounds, making it in pro football requires something beyond talent. There’s a reason head coach Matt Nagy made the team’s motto, “Be Obsessed.” That is because obsession is often what makes the best players and coaches in sports. Football is no different. Bunting, for all his physical gifts, hasn’t figured that part out yet.

Fun video though.
