Moves The Bears Could Be Poised To Make Soon

-

It’s no secret that Chicago has had a very active offseason. Many believe the Bears are winning the offseason compared to the other 31 teams. But the work isn’t done yet—there could still be more moves on the horizon. Here are a few to keep an eye on in the coming weeks and months:

Kyler Gordon Extension

Kyler Gordon has already expressed that he wants to stay in Chicago. He’s willing to play next season without an extension but would gladly sign one if the two sides can agree on terms. I believe these talks are further along than what’s been reported, and it makes sense to lock up the 25-year-old corner sooner rather than later. Just look at the deal Jaylon Johnson got compared to other contracts being signed this offseason—it usually pays off to extend good players early. Gordon should be next in line.

Joe Thuney Extension

There’s been plenty of extension talk, and it’s hard to imagine the Bears trading for Thuney without planning to give him a new deal. Locking him up for another two to three years makes sense, and I’d bet Poles and company are already working to finalize it. Keeping an All-Pro like Thuney at Halas Hall long-term would be a smart move.

Adding Depth to the Offensive Line

The Bears have made significant moves to rebuild the offensive line, but there’s still work to do. They could use a swing tackle and some additional depth around their starters. Injuries are inevitable at this position, so adding more reinforcements would provide valuable insurance for Caleb Williams. Expect the Bears to target more depth through the draft and possibly another free agent signing.

The Bears have made major strides this offseason, but a few more moves could take them to the next level.
