Mitch Trubisky already has plenty of things going for him. He’s a talented young man with a good arm, accurate throw, and mobility. He’s smart and boasts a work ethic that borders on the obsessed. Players with those traits tend to have success in the NFL sooner or later. This is great news for the Chicago Bears and their offensive hopes.
What makes it even better is Trubisky has a ton of quality people around him. People who are extraordinarily qualified for the task. Matt Nagy is a former QB and offensive coach with a decade of NFL experience. His offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich ran a successful program at Oregon where it boasted one of the most prolific offenses in college football.
Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel, and Anthony Miller come from prolific receiving backgrounds. Trey Burton just got done helping the Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl. All of those men can help Trubisky be great, but it doesn’t stop there. It seems the Bears quarterback has developed a friendly relationship with the First Family of football.
The Manning family has high opinions of Mitch Trubisky
Archie Manning is the most famous father in NFL history. The former two-time Pro Bowl quarterback of the New Orleans Saints became the parent of what will likely be two future Hall of Famers in Peyton Manning and Eli Manning. These men know all there is to know about being successful quarterbacks in the NFL. That’s why it was encouraging to hear how highly they think of Trubisky when the Manning patriarch appeared on WGN News with Adam Hoge.

Archie Manning told us this morning how Mitch Trubisky leaned on Peyton Manning for advice when he was deciding to leave North Carolina early for the NFL.

The relationship with Peyton Manning began for Trubisky prior to the NFL draft in 2017. He reached out to the legend for advice on what he should do regarding his decision to either stay in school or declare early. Manning said it would probably be best to get his pro career going earlier since his stock was high. Trubisky followed his advice and the rest is history for the Bears.
Since then the two have had periodic contact. Manning visited Bears practice last year and they met again during joint practices with the Broncos in Denver. Each time Trubisky was seen taking time out to shake his hand and talk to him. It’s another sign of the young quarterbacks’ common sense.
If he wants to be great, he should talk to guys who already were or still are. This year feels like the first real opportunity for Trubisky to showcase what he’s learned.
