When Ryan Poles was hired, he promised things would change. The Bears have never fired a head coach during the regular season. It is time to change. Poles now must act. The circus that is the Enerflus era needs to end now.
The Bears were humiliated again, with most of the nation watching. This time, it was the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bears won the coin toss, then proceeded to lose the game. The only bright spot was the opening drive. The defense held Kansas City on their first drive, forcing a punt. After that, the Chiefs ran roughshod through the defense. The Bears’ offense was inept for the third consecutive week. Kansas City rolled to 31 unanswered points in the first half.
In the aftermath of another debacle, how will Poles react to the ineptitude he has seen unfold in September? The defense is woeful; the offense is terrible. Only Cairo Santos has done well when called upon.
It’s time for Poles to make an unprecedented move and fire Eberflus.
Subscribe to the BFR Youtube channel and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.
How bad can it be? The Bears are 0-3 and face Denver next week. The Broncos are also 0-3 and just lost by 50 points. They are traveling to Chicago and are 3 1/2 point FAVORITES!
The defense has allowed scoring drives on the first possession of the game twice in three games. Every opposing team has also scored on their last possession of the first half, AND their opening drive of the third quarter.
They can’t get to the quarterback and sit back in a soft zone. Jordan Love, Baker Mayfield, and now Patrick Mahomes have shredded this scheme and there appears to be no end in sight. The record for the fewest sacks in a non-strike season is 13, and this defense is now currently on pace for just 6.
If the defense allows Denver to rip through them Sunday, the fans in attendance will no doubt vent their frustrations with a chorus of boos, until they leave the stadium.
The Bears season can be summed up in one word:
Embarrassing.
I would prefer to see like in Ted Lasso the fans chanting “Wanker.”
