Latest Shedeur Sanders News Is Huge For The Bears

-

Everybody knows Cam Ward of Miami will be the #1 pick in the draft to the Tennessee Titans. What experts haven’t been able to determine is when the next quarterback will come off the board. One would think it’d be at #2 to Cleveland or #3 to New York. Both teams have clear long-term needs at the position. Yet recent buzz suggests both teams are more inclined to take Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter. Such an outcome with leave Shedeur Sanders, the widely believed second QB in this class, without a clear landing spot. The next possible one would be New Orleans at #9, but that isn’t a guarantee.

Such an outcome would be unfortunate for the Chicago Bears. If they wish to land one of the top non-quarterback prospects at #10, they need more quarterbacks to go in the first nine picks. Sanders falling doesn’t help them. However, there is a ray of hope. News broke recently that the Giants visited Colorado for a private workout with Sanders. This, along with an update from draft insider Todd McShay, suggests there is still a real possibility the quarterback goes at #3.

Shedeur Sanders going #3 would cause a huge ripple effect.

If that were to happen, it would become a virtual guarantee that New England would take Carter at #4, presuming Hunter goes to Cleveland as many expect. This creates a strong possibility that one of the top offensive tackles will slip to the Bears. The one to watch is LSU’s Will Campbell since none of the teams picking between #5 and #9 have glaring needs at left tackle. Chicago has said they’re looking for left tackle competition. If Ashton Jeanty goes #6 to Las Vegas, as most believe, Campbell feels like the obvious pick. That likely doesn’t happen if Shedeur Sanders falls out of the top three. It is hard to imagine New York bothers with that meeting unless they were serious about taking him.

@Slip Knotz. There are reports and rumors that Carr has a shoulder injury.

Do the Saints really need a Qb that bad this month? They have Carr and Rattler.

I like reading deep dive posts. Dr Malhus and TGana specifically offer many of these posts. They’re interesting and offer information as much as opinion. Tip of cap again for the latest one here. However, I personally disagree with one major proposition in the latest Dr Mel post. No way do Bears trade their pick and not get a 1St in this draft. So I don’t think the Bears are a good candidate for Cleveland (as example) to pull a Texans special and get two players they covet early in 1st round this year.

Show me a long-armed ProBowl level Left Tackle, with “bad feet.”

If an NFL left tackle has bad feet, he’ll get beat routinely — no matter his arm length.
