Khalil Mack is a man of few words. Whenever he is obligated to speak with the media, he never ever raises his voice. His answers are calm and short. It’s clear the man is an introvert at heart. Yet when he gets on the football field, he transforms into a demon. One offensive tackles have grown to fear over the years. Now he enters one of the most important seasons of his Chicago Bears career.
How is he feeling? Mack hasn’t spoken to the media yet this year. So all people have to go on are reports from coaches. Apparently the 29-year old has been working out like a madman all offseason. Even taking Zoom calls in the weight room. That gives one the impression that his 8.5-sack campaign in 2019 did not live up to his personal standards and he is intent on righting that wrong.
If people needed even a little more assurance, Mack provided it. Te Bates is a local Chicago artist and designer. He is a huge Bears fan and apparently friends with the star pass rusher in some capacity. Bates posted a photo of Mack on his Instagram with a simple caption of “I have a good feeling about this season.”
The linebacker had a two-word reply to that.

Khalil Mack said so much despite saying so little
If people think about last season, Mack didn’t say a lot then either. However, there were instances where it seemed like his mood was somewhat dour. Like he lacked a bit of optimism. Perhaps he felt the Bears didn’t have the same edge as the previous year. That they were expecting things to go right for them like in 2018. They had it all figured out. It was something mentioned throughout the season. That maybe the team coasted a bit too much on past success.
This year by all accounts the players are hungry and focused going into camp. On top of that, Mack has a new running mate in Robert Quinn. A significant upgrade from Leonard Floyd on the opposite edge. This should mean fewer double teams than he’s ever seen. So it’s little wonder he’s feeling optimistic about 2020.
