Justin Fields Shares Thoughts on Caleb Williams Tough Start in Chicago

-

Regardless of how their careers unfold, quarterbacks Justin Fields and Caleb Williams will always be connected. In March, the Bears traded Fields to the now 3-0 Pittsburgh Steelers. During a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Fields was asked about his expectations for Williams’ performance for the rest of the season. Fields responded with class, showing strong support for the rookie quarterback.

“I think he’s going to be fine.. He’s talented, he has all the talent in the world. They drafted him No. 1 overall for a reason.

Fields further explained something he’s very familiar with: the struggles in Chicago aren’t solely the quarterback’s responsibility.

“Of course, it’s just not him, but he’s going to get most of the blame just because of the position he’s in. But just as a whole… the guys over there I know.. they want to be better, and I think they’re going to be better.”

Justin Fields took the high road

Fields has always been a stand-up guy, so it’s no surprise to see him sharing these thoughts and showing support for Williams. We’re seeing firsthand how much coaching and organizational structure really matter. Now that Fields is finding success in Pittsburgh, it’s likely just a matter of time before Williams and the Bears follow suit. The key question is whether the current coaching staff can fully unlock Williams’ potential. At the moment, all indications suggest the answer is no.

Oh what a difference a competent coaching staff and a non-bargain bin OL make.
There isn’t a happier qb in the NFL. Although Daniels looked like he was having fun in Cincy last night.

Fields is a viable starting QB with upside who is still only 25 yrs old. And the idiot Poles got only a fkn 6th rounder for him. So far it looks like that might turn into a 4th rounder, but Poles is still a horrendous judge of trade value.

He will be 4-0 after this week against the Colts. But let’s not get too excited about ol’ Fields and how they are doing. I know you have to win the games in front of you, and they have done that, but they have played the grand total of no one thus far. Game 1: Falcons (new head coach, new system, and Cousins 1st game from Achilles) Game 2: Broncos (Rookie QB, bad team) Game 3: Chargers (Hurt QB, new offensive system/coach(whose 2 wins were against the Raiders and the Panthers)) Game 4: Colts (couldn’t be a better team for… Read more »

Thanks, Justin, for your kind words and support. I’m glad you are doing well at 3-0. And you will eventually become what you were intended to be with more time, teaching, learning, confidence, and adjustments.
