Justin Fields Reveals His One Goal For 2024 Season

-

No matter which team Justin Fields is on for the upcoming season, his focus remains on a single goal. When asked about his aspirations for the next year during a recent episode of the St. Brown Brothers Podcast, Fields responded with one objective.

“I am not gonna lie, I gotta get in the playoffs.. I gotta get in the playoffs.”

In Justin’s initial three seasons, the Bears haven’t made it to the playoffs. Towards the end of last season, the Bears were still in contention and had an opportunity to secure a playoff spot if they won all their remaining games and received some help from other teams. Obviously, the team fell short and missed the playoffs. However, if the Bears decide to part ways with Fields, the Atlanta Falcons seem well-prepared to potentially make a playoff push, only needing a quarterback and possibly another wide receiver, as suggested by Justin. Fields commented on the possibility of joining Atlanta by saying this about his hometown team.

“Atlanta would be tough.. They have a lot of playmakers on the team. Bijan (Robinson). My boy Kyle (Pitts), and of course Drake (London) too. They got some guys over there.”

Chicago should prioritize finding the best trade for the team if they decide to trade Justin. However, it would also be a nice gesture to give him the opportunity to join a good team that aligns with his interests. Ultimately, Ryan Poles must do what’s best for the Chicago Bears. However, it would be great if both parties could benefit from a potential deal if it were to come to fruition.

Is a trade for Justin Fields coming soon?

@jmscooby — I’m not faulting Poles for wanting Derrick Brown (and Brian Burns) in that Carolina trade that netted DJ Moore and what turned out to be the overall #1 pick in this year’s NFL draft (plus more). I’m just pointing to existing reports that reveal a more complete view of some of the recent trades, made by Ryan Poles. And, it’s not a pretty picture. When luck is on his side, he looks great (DJ Moore, plus #1.. . plus). But, more often than not, Poles proceeds as a perpetual rookie GM, overpaying for talent (and nothing more than… Read more »

100% agreement, here.

Winning is the ultimate goal.

Poles is going into his 3rd draft, and has never been able to select a QB because our last GM was such an impatient knucklehead. Pace shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the QB evaluation process.

I won’t fault Poles for wanting Derrick Brown. I still want him. It’s not fair to compare our situation with SF. If the previous regime selected Lance and then stuck him with Lynch/Shanny for 2 years, then it would be similar. Due diligence has been done, and I honestly don’t think Fields could beat out Bagent for the starting QB if the job was open.

@TGena – I think we agree that A) Growth would be nice from everyone involved with the Bears – from George on down the line, IMO. B) The only thing that will prove things are going well is winning. I don’t care if we win the trades, the draft, the free agent market. Unless the *entire* program – training, medical staff, nutrition, all levels of coaching, scouting, everything – comes together to produce wins, it doesn’t matter. That’s the thing that makes me one of the outliers on this board. Poles can win GM of the Year. Eberflus can win… Read more »
