Justin Fields Claps Back At Reporter In Latest Press Conference

-

As the 2023 Chicago Bears season nears its end, it appears that quarterback Justin Fields is becoming increasingly outspoken. This shift began earlier in the season when he emphasized playing his own game, and it continued with a press conference where he openly criticized being “overcoached”. Over time, Fields has become more authentic, worrying less about giving the cliché responses. Following the win against Arizona, reporter Shawn Sierra posed a personnel-related question to Justin Fields, who delivered a hilarious but compelling response.

The media has taken a toll on Justin Fields

In Chicago, being the quarterback is known to be challenging, just ask Jay Cutler, Mitchell Trubisky, and even Nick Foles. This city can be brutal, showering you with love one week and turning on you the next. Just like the NFL is a week-to-week league, the same holds true for the Bears signal callers in Chicago. But Justin Fields has emerged as a great leader who navigates criticism very well. Even when he responds, he does so in a subtly respectful manner. In my view, Justin is justified in holding reporters accountable for their actions and his latest clap back was totally justified and quite refreshing.

Just taken away with the pocket time. After several years, are the McCaskey dynasty dollars going to pay the QB Fields millions in a little over another year for a contract? for a pocket time which is well above the NFL average pocket QB time. Can’t help but watch any other NFL QB and see the dramatically quicker decision time of other QB. Time to move on from long pocket time which has injury and devastation ahead.

@TWTY What do YOU think Getsy should “do about it?” Coach them on how he feels (or knows) blocks should be carried out. Tonyan came from GB, same as Getsy. My issue is that Getsy is being paid to coordinate the ENTIRE offense. No be the clipboard carrier anymore. Either coordinate the way other coordinators who ALL aspire to be head coaches do (with urgency, intensity, intelligence and creativity) or get out of the way. You criticize Fields for either bad plays or two years of doing the same thing. Don’t you think his position coach and coordinator should be… Read more »

Oh noooooo!!! Shocking! Let me just point out to everyone who thinks Fields is the problem and not the coaching, or the “Quick outs, short passes” is always better than the “Running Back who throws” I hope y’all saw the Ravens “Lamar “Running Back Who Throws” Jackson, vs. the Niners Brock ” Tyson Bagent’s Big Brother” Purdy. This happens with coaching. This happens with TEAMS. This happens and can and will happen with great coaching. You get to these games with the records they have. And THEN, it is possible that players can make a difference. It has taken Lamar… Read more »
