If there is one thing we’ve learned about Jaquan Brisker in his time with the Chicago Bears, it is that the young safety has a voice and isn’t afraid to use it. The safety is arguably the most present player on the team when it comes to social media. He posts on Twitter (X) all the time. Since suffering his concussion in early October, he’s had plenty of time to do that. Most of it is innocuous stuff, cheering for his teammates on Sundays and doing the same for Penn State, his alma mater. However, there have also been some cryptic posts that one can’t help but raise eyebrows at.
It started on November 11th when he stated, “You keep being stuck up in your ways, you going to fall slime…” This came a day after New England humiliated the Bears 19-3 at home. Most believed it was a direct criticism of head coach Matt Eberflus, who refused to do anything about the ongoing problems on offense. Sure enough, Shane Waldron was fired shortly later. Now Brisker has dropped another tweet. This one is no less interesting for what it could be implying.
Jaquan Brisker could be alluding to multiple possibilities.
That first part of the quote suggests it may have something to do with his injury status. Jaquan Brisker has been out since October 7th with concussion issues. The Bears placed him on Injured Reserve on November 14th, feeling that not enough progress had been made in his recovery. This could indicate Brisker disagrees with the diagnosis and feels he is healthy enough to play. Another possibility is Brisker took another shot at Eberflus. This tweet came a couple of days after the Bears’ brutal loss to Green Bay on a blocked field goal. It was another instance where questionable decisions by the head coach led to a winnable game slipping away.
If the fans can see it, so can the players. Brisker’s careful wording suggests that the mood in the locker room is one of quiet resentment. They know Eberflus isn’t the guy and have resigned themselves to begin stuck with him until the end of the year. What do you think it means?

Well, thanks to @Dr. Steven Sallie for tallying the votes. And, thanks to @Tred, for noticing. The “merchant of evil” I was tryng for was Jeffrey Dahmer (reportedly, an avid Packers fan). Clearly, Bears GM Ryan Poles and the cannibalistic Dahmer share a similar inexplicable taste in men. Poles limits himself to “incapacitated” O-linemen. While Dahmer was willing to “bite on” just about any man, in line. Oh well — Congratulations to Dr. Melhus on his victory — and his recognition of HC Matt Eberflus as apparently, “the only person responsible” for the Bears dismal 14-30 won-loss record… …the Halas… Read more »
@TGena – Charles Manson? Or Richard Speck? Or David Berkowitz? Which merchant of evil were you copying?
Either way, A+++ for creativity , but too edgy.
“Evil never wins…”
WTF?! The use of the word “Evil” is really odd. It makes you wonder.
Official voting has ended. Although Poles had a very commanding lead throughout, a very late surge made Flus, a narrow winner. So, Flus is the devil that Brisker was alluding to. However, there is considerable division among Bears fans. In a loose sense, Dr.M won and TGena lost via the mass voting. I did not vote because I do not believe in the devil, the anti-christ, or demons, just the ambiguous and unequal evil residing within each of us.
Sorry but shut up until you play more than 9 games a year.
