Interesting Chicago Bears Trade Proposal Emerges, Too Compelling to Ignore

-

In the most recent BFR Podcast episode, Ficky and I discussed two trade proposals presented by @DuhBearsDen. The first proposal involved the Bears potentially trading the number one overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft (if secured through the Carolina Panthers) to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a huge return.

The trade package looks like the following:

Bears get:

Maxx Crosby
No. 11 overall pick in the 2024 draft
2024 2nd round pick
2025 1st round pick

Raiders get:

No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 draft

If you are the Bears, you pull the trigger in a heartbeat.

All in all, we received an interesting question about the possibility of the Raiders trading Maxx Crosby, a key player on their defense. However, it seems unlikely given Crosby’s status as a top 5 edge rusher in the NFL and being just 26 years old. The idea of him joining the Bears, potentially paired with Montez Sweat, is very intriguing, especially considering Crosby’s impressive 13.5 sacks this season. If the opportunity arises for the Bears to acquire Maxx Crosby, it would be something Ryan Poles should definitely consider.

Crosby will be 27 next season. If I do a trade with the Raiders, and I am not saying I am in favor or doing one, it would have to include Mayer, not Crosby.

Absolutely take it. With their pick currently at #9 if it stays there, they might consider taking McCarthy (QB), then at #11 they can take the best WR on the board. With the Raider second round pick they can take their Center of the future. And with the second round pick they get for Fields they can take a DT or another WR…

Love Crosby but the price tag might become an issue unless everyone else is a rookie LOL

That would be a great outcome too. We can send Tom Waddle Told Ya a vintage R3dskins jersey.

Yeah, I think you’d put a higher value on Crosby than on Moore. That’s no knock on Moore, but EDGE is the only plug-and-play position in modern football that isn’t there to kick.

Also, the only reason Chicago will have the top pick to deal is because of last year’s trade with Carolina, so if they can replicate that and score the top pick *again* in 2025 while also receiving an elite, impact player, I don’t think anyone will be complaining.
