The Chicago Bears might be one of the most unpredictable teams going into the 2025 NFL draft. That became the case after their free agency blitz that saw them completely revamp the trenches with Joe Thuney, Jonah Jackson, Drew Dalman, Grady Jarrett, and Dayo Odenyingbo. Suddenly a team that seemed like a lock to take the best lineman available now seems as if they could go in any direction. Some believe it will be running back Ashton Jeanty. Others can see tight end Tyler Warren. Even cornerback Will Johnson has gotten some looks.
Still, some remain steadfast that the Bears will focus on the trenches, either by adding a possible franchise left tackle or another pass rusher. Former scouting director Greb Gabriel isn’t buying into that theory. He explained his viewpoint on the Barroom Network. From his perspective, the nature of this draft doesn’t make it conducive to staying at #10 unless there is somebody they absolutely love who will be available. If there isn’t, and this class makes it unlikely, then trading down is the obvious play.
The Chicago Bears have already hinted at this possibility.
GM Ryan Poles mentioned the idea of trading down a couple of weeks ago. Unprompted, by the way. The last time he brought something like that up, the Chicago Bears ended up flipping the #1 pick to Carolina. While he has seven picks in this draft, there are none in the 4th round, and the Bears only have six next year. Moving down to acquire more selections feels like something to consider. There should be teams interested in moving up. Miami (#13) needs a long-term left tackle option. Indianapolis (#14) badly needs a playmaking tight end. Pittsburgh (#21) may wish to come up for a quarterback. It all depends on how far back Poles is willing to move.
Silly are you still bragging about your mom allowing to suckle at her teats
Keep meowing little pussy
Pittsburgh? They can likely get Dart at 1.21, and if they want Ward or Sanders, they will probably have to trade higher than 1.10. If Sanders falls and they want to move up, that could work, but Miami for a LT or Indy for Warren both make sense. Poles should just make sure to get a very good deal.
@Wes P: If Graham is there at 10, you turn off the phones and take him, unless Carter is there too, in which case pinch yourself and wake up.
Wes P. For me personally in that scenario, I’m taking Graham, and it’s an easy pick. I’d take Graham over any player in this draft other than Carter. The order I’d have your 3 in is Graham, Jeanty then Campbell. But honestly I’m not too interested in Campbell. If Campbell is the only 1 of those 3 that are available at 10, then I’d say there’s a good chance for someone to want to trade up for him. Which would be best case scenario there. Again, just my own opinion.
A lot depends on the nine teams in front of the Bears. There’s not a lot they can do until they know who is still available. What if they have some of the top choices at #10 like Ashton Jeanty, Mason Graham, and Will Campbell? Then who do they choose?
No trade with Pittsburgh unless you to take them to the cleaners.
