Mitchell Trubisky is the ultimate scapegoat. That is what happens when you play quarterback in the NFL. The position tends gets to get too much praise when the team wins and at the same time, is the recipient of heavy criticism when the team underachieves. In a recent tweet, Kyle Long called out Twitter user Josh Jordan, for pinning the Bears 2019 struggles on one single player: Trubisky.
Bears Super Bowl Champs 2021?
The tweet that made Josh chirp at Kyle in the first place, happened to be a very hot take the former Chicago Bears’ offensive lineman had this morning:
Could the Bears really be in the Super Bowl next year?
This is likely a joke but hell the San Francisco 49ers went from 4-12 in 2018 to 13-3 and a Super Bowl appearance in just under a year. Obviously the 49ers situation is a lot different. The Bears indeed have a ton of holes to fill but with the right moves and little bit of luck, the team should be back to contending next season. It might not be for a Super Bowl like Long so boldly proclaimed but perhaps it’s just a division title. At this point, even that would be considered progress for the Bears who found themselves unable to replicate their 2018 success in 2019. But with a lot of changes coming this offseason, who knows what the future will hold for this team? Is it a Super Bowl?
Probably not — but there have been crazier things that have happened.
