ESPN Confirms Vital Rumor About Looming Eddie George Bears Interview

-

Jay Glazer dropped a bombshell on Saturday evening when he revealed the Chicago Bears planned to speak with Tennessee State head coach Eddie George. The former Pro Bowl running back first worked with the organization as part of the Bill Walsh Diversity Fellowship. It might explain their interest. However, others believe this is a calculated move by the organization to clear the final hurdle before pursuing their actual target. The NFL’s Rooney Rule requires teams to meet with at least two outside minority candidates in person for their vacant.

Chicago completed the first one with Ron Rivera earlier this week. If George’s meeting was also in person, the Bears would have satisfied the requirements. Courtney Cronin of ESPN provided the necessary details the following morning. George will indeed be at Halas Hall today, meaning the Bears are free to go after their preferred guy on Monday.

Eddie George is doing the Bears a real solid.

It is doubtful he’s naive enough to believe he has a real shot at the job. He’s likely doing a favor for people who did him one two years ago. Not only that, but it’s possible Chicago might be considering him for an assistant position on their next staff. It would be his door back into the NFL. While he may love Tennessee State, it always felt like a matter of time before he looked to make the jump. Maybe the Bears see him as a perfect running backs coach or run game coordinator. Either way, his meeting is about to light the fuse on whatever move the organization has planned for this coming week.

Eddie George will be remembered as an unsung hero if the team gets who the fans want. If, by some miracle, the team hires him as the head coach? Let’s just say it might be hard for the top guys at Halas Hall to walk out in public for a while.

Shaun Murphy defeated K Wilson for the 2025 Masters Championship in snooker, one of my personal favorite sports as a player and fan. I put it up there with chess.

I will leave 8-ball and checkers for the Bears fans who are the children of the corn and continuous supporters of GM Poles.

People say they cooled on wanted Ben because he lost last night. Lions offense still had more total yards, average yards per play, first downs, passing yards, and rushing yards. What lost the game was the 5-0 TOs difference
