If you thought the players weren’t restless after what happened last week in Washington, it seems they’re getting bolder after a fiasco 29-9 loss in Arizona to the Cardinals. Buzz had been building all week that Matt Eberflus turned a lot of people off with what happened last week and how he handled it. First it was some egregious calls that allowed the Commanders to complete the Hail Mary, and then not taking immediate accountability for it. This week, it was his inability to get the team focused on rebounding against a possible contender for an NFC wild card spot. Caleb Williams already mentioned how the team lingered too long on the Hail Mary after the game. Now, it was DJ Moore throwing fuel on the fire.
The star receiver was on Mully & Haugh for 670 The Score. He was asked the simple question. Has Eberflus lost the locker room? This was a chance for Moore to offer a ringing endorsement for his head coach and assure people that everybody was on the same page. The team is behind him. Well, that is not what happened. Let’s just say Moore didn’t even try giving his coach support.
Luke warm isn’t strong enough to describe that DJ Moore reply.
It is beyond obvious he had something on his mind he wanted to say but knew he couldn’t. He’s smart enough to know it would’ve started a media firestorm. So, he opted for a half-hearted statement that dropped monumental hints that there were serious doubts about the Bears head coach. DJ Moore has been here before. He’s seen coaches lose the locker room multiple times. First, it was Ron Rivera, and then it was Matt Rhule. The wide receiver knows by now when a coach doesn’t have the right message to motivate guys. They’re grasping at straws. Eberflus seems to have reached that stage.
I have stated long ago that I do not like QBs or WRs. We used to feast upon them for various reasons. Might makes Right!
Personally, i would have taken Derrick Brown over DJ in the Carolina trade.
@jmscooby —
This is why you’re GM.material.
DJ Moore has not played up to the maturity level of a high school team captain.
He’s been up in his feelings the entire game — in virtually every game.
This is the problem.with building an NFL team, as Ryan Poles has — starting with the WR room — too many prima donnas.
@Hehateme30……you are absolutely correct sir. Fieldies still sounding as dumb as ever.
