DJ Moore Defended Jaylon Johnson For Exploding At Matt Eberflus

-

Matt Eberflus tried to downplay how the game in Detroit ended, insisting it was merely bad luck and the team needed to stick together. Jaylon Johnson had heard it all before, and the Pro Bowl cornerback was tired of it. After weeks of watching the Chicago Bears head coach cost them games with his baffling situational decision-making, Johnson exploded in the post-game locker room. He called out Eberflus in front of everybody for several minutes. It got so heated that the coach felt compelled to leave the room. Wide receiver DJ Moore was receiving treatment in the training room at the time, so it took a little bit before he heard what happened.

He became the first to reveal what other players thought about the confrontation publicly on Mully & Haugh for 670 The Score. Did he think Johnson went a little overboard? Not in the slightest. Moore applauded his teammate for having the courage to stand up and say what many others were feeling.

DJ Moore understood how important that moment was.

Players had been keeping quiet about the situation for weeks, trying to be good soldiers and not create waves. However, as the losses mounted, their frustration grew. Here they were, battling their asses off every week to stay in games, only for the head coach to piss down his leg every single time in the final minutes.

The Hail Mary.

Subscribe to the BFR Youtube channel and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.

The blocked field goal.

That overtime defensive collapse.

Now, the failed timeout.

Winning in the NFL is hard enough. Having your coach actively sabotage you every week is too much. Johnson’s explosion had likely been building for a long time. DJ Moore showing this kind of support isn’t a surprise. Most other players in the locker room probably feel the same. That should give a clear view of how far Eberflus had fallen in their eyes.

The REAL Joke is Ryan Poles, he’s following a similar path as his twin, Ryan Pace, by this time next year many will finally be calling for the inexperienced Poles head, then I’ll say, told ya so….!

Sam, now it makes me wonder if Poles did have that power. Maybe that’s why it took hours determining ME’s fate? Barry reports that Poles has no idea if the Bears will use a consultant, search committee etc. That has cluster written all over it. If I’m Poles let’s make it easy; It’s My ass on the line so I pick My Guy, from My list, or stick it.

Already our coach search is a joke.

@Sam If you continue to keep up your accurate comments, you will become an honorary Male Lion whether you desire such or not. Barry is one and he doesn’t even know it yet. Same with Tred.

@Sam I am afraid you might be correct. Let’s use a HYPOTHETICAL example of why players should not be the ones to confront the HC unless there are no alternatives. @Dr. M as untenured, is lecturing on evolutionary biology, but he consistently strays to something that all agree is totally unnecessary, pornographic, and has no redeeming value added to the intended subject. All the students miss out or lose knowledge about the real subject. But the students are not the only ones who witness this travesty since there is a live videotape with audio recording everything. It’s live for the… Read more »

Rocketrider.. None of us know whats said behind closed doors at Halas Hall. But Poles had enough authority to step in. He didn’t do it until players forced his hand. Period. Poles was Flus direct boss and the person directly responsible for hiring and keeping Flus. He had a very strong voice in this situation sir. It was handled poorly from Poles on up.
