Yes, you read that correctly. Dick Butkus: Illinois standout, Chicago Bear legend, Hall of Famer, and an absolute menace in the social media world. Nobody could have seen this coming, but his recently created Twitter account has started taking shots at literally anybody and everybody, and it’s hilarious.

Subscribe to the BFR Youtube channel and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.
Oh, and of course he let the Packers have it. Don’t worry, Bears fans.

This is one of those moments you have to do a double-take to see if you read the name of the Twitter account. Dick Butkus? The Hall Of Fame Dick Butkus? The former Chicago Bear who was selected to the Pro Bowl for eight out of his nine seasons? The man who was selected to First-Team All-Pro his rookie season, and then another four times after? We know, it sounds ridiculous and absurd in every way, but it’s also beautiful. It’s about time a Bear comes out of hibernation and terrorizes the world of Twitter a little bit. Especially from a guy who you can’t really talk back to, you know? Like, what can anybody say back to this man? Nothing. And that’s why he’s the definition of an ultimate troll.
Can We Blame Him?
im 79

This is the exact response of a man who worked his entire life busting his rump to play at the highest level of football. And he wasn’t just any regular, everyday football player. He didn’t feel content just getting to the Division 1 level. He didn’t feel content just getting drafted by one of the most historic franchises as the 3rd overall pick in the 1965 NFL draft. No, he had much, much higher ambitions. He quickly made a name for himself in his rookie season when he and rookie teammate/phenom Gale Sayers welcomed themselves to the NFL world. Which, for the record, what a draft for the Bears that year. Back-to-back picks and you bang out two future Hall of Famers? Props to the minds behind that draft.
So, what’s the point of all these statistics being thrown around at you? The point is that this 79-year-old Hall of Famer has lived a life that many dream of but only a few actually achieve. He doesn’t have to prove anything else in his life, and he has every right to be throwing shade at football players and organizations on social media, especially because it’s straight comedy for all of us to see. The definition of a hard-nosed Chicago Bear linebacker, this man truly lives for football, and his trash talking has obviously not gone anywhere.
What To Do If You Become A Target Of His Trolling
This seems like the perfect time to tell you all a metaphor: don’t poke the bear. What does this mean exactly? Let’s just say that you better be ready to catch some heat if you give it to him first. And honestly, you may not even do anything and receive some trolling. You may even be a Bears fan and receive a roast, or you may even try to be sincere and get an out-of-this-world response. That’s just Dick Butkus, and there’s nothing you can do to change him.
nice story lou

So, the answer is pretty simple: you can’t escape his trolling. The best thing to do would probably be picking up a Chocolate Cake Shake from Portillo’s in all honesty. And if you can’t do that, then you better find something similar…if that even exists. This may seem intimidating, but you shouldn’t have any reason to fear. The best thing to do would be simply sitting back and grabbing a snack to watch the trolling happen without being the subject yourself. With that being said, Bear Down and enjoy the troll being The Animal on the field.
