The quote from an iconic movie is 84 years old but still rings true today. Taken from the movie “The Wizard of Oz”: “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.” Bears fans need to hit the mute button when they hear comments from those self-described pundits offering opinions on the future of this franchise.
We have heard voices from everywhere after every game over the last few weeks. Matt Eberflus is staying. Eberflus is gone after the season. Bear Head Coach is likely to be replaced.
Those so-called experts are even more divided on the future of Justin Fields. There are hundreds of stories and videos available. You, our readers, are convinced your opinion is correct, regardless of where you stand on the issue. Does he stay or go? Regardless of your position on Fields, you can easily find an “expert” or video to support your point of view.
“Hell Hath No Fury…”
Subscribe to the BFR Youtube channel and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.
With a tip of the hat to William Congreve, who penned those famous words back in 1697, the correct phrase now is, “Hell Hath No Fury Like a Disgruntled Fan With a Social Media Account.” Look no further than the Philadelphia fan base. Just three weeks ago, Jalen Hursts was in the conversation for MVP honors. Philadelphia got hammered by San Francisco and Dallas, and fans started to call for a change at quarterback.
There is no doubt that everyone who has access to a microphone or a keyboard will continue to push their personal agenda until the Bears get home from Green Bay after the season ends. We will have answers about the coaching staff by noon on Monday, January 8th. It will take more time to learn the fate of Justin Fields.
Those so-called pundits who guess correctly will be crowing loudly. Meanwhile, those who guessed wrong will quietly move on to other issues and lie about them as well.
There are rumors? I hadn’t heard.
We didn’t start the fire.
