Chicago Bears Read Tweets About Themselves And It Gets Weird Quick

-

One fact is indisputable. The Chicago Bears would be nothing without the fans. They’re a billion-dollar organization today because legions of people have dedicated time and energy to loving this team. That includes both good times and bad. Nobody argues this is a down period, maybe the worst in franchise history. The Bears have only one season with a winning record since 2013 and no playoff victories. Yet that hasn’t stopped people from holding out hope for what is to come.

This shouldn’t be a surprise. It’s the same city that stood by the Cubs for over a century before they finally broke through in 2016. Optimism is high this year as the Bears prepare for their climb out of the NFL cellar. Nowhere is the positivity higher than on Twitter. In an effort to share the love, the organization had some players read positive tweets from fans about them. Some are really cool and even creative. However, as is often the case with passionate people, it also gets a bit weird.

The Chicago Bears at least know the fans are all in.

It would be far worse if people were apathetic about the organization. They have good reasons to be. The team hasn’t been relevant since 2018, and even then, it was only a one-year thing. GM Ryan Poles is trying to reverse an ugly trend of constant losing interspersed with a rare playoff run that goes nowhere. Sustainability is the key. For that, he’s embracing the most difficult part of a rebuild. That means focusing on the draft and developing young players. Such things take time.

Fans must be patient. That is asking a lot after what they’ve endured for so long. Still, their passion doesn’t seem to have slackened. Justin Fields, Teven Jenkins, Darnell Mooney, and Jaquan Brisker are all feeling the love and support. That is what matters in the end. One can only hope those four lead the way in a surprise turnaround this season. The NFC North is wide open for the first time in many years. Aaron Rodgers is gone. Most of the NFC is weak. It could be their time.

Lol, weird is an understatement. You can tell JF1 wasn’t feeling the tweets that were chosen.
