Chicago Bears Ranked Most Improved Team

-

The Bears are a popular pick to go from missing the playoffs to making them in 2024. While having a rookie quarterback often comes with growing pains, Caleb Williams is not your typical rookie. ESPN NFL analyst Marcus Spears even ranks the Bears as the most improved team this offseason.

The Bears are followed by the Jets, Titans, Texans, and Ravens. Ryan Poles has made some tough decision but overall he has done a great job retooling the roster he took over just a few years ago. The Bears ended the 2023 season with 7 wins and 10 losses with Justin Fields at the helm. With numerous new additions and a defense poised to be among the top 5 in 2024, the team’s potential for success is exceptionally high. The team should now be ready to compete for at least a wild card spot.

Firing your amateur coaches and hiring professionals ALWAYS improves a team. Knowing the difference will take you a long way.

This is a PRE-training camp assessment. There is still much work to be done. Training camp, early games, mid-season grind, etc.
Watching the number of women injured in Olympic trials yesterday, just put the fear of bejesus into me, as well as it should with every coach and Ryan Poles. Prepare everyone, just work. I think Mark Schlereth was talking about Russell Wilson when he coined the phrase “toxic positivity.”
I don’t think being positive is toxic, but it has to be tempered with excessive preparation.
Hasn’t been a Bears forte (speaking of running backs who could receive).

He ruined it with his #5 most improved team being the Ravens. Ravens lost their DC for a HC job and lost several stars this past offseason. They lost way more than they brought in even.

I would say “improving” not “improved”. Bill Parcells said, “You are what your record says you are”. Too often media guys had been saying “Well this is a really good 6-4 team or a really lucky 6-4 team” when Parcells said that.

The Bears appears to be trending well. But they are not winners as of today.
Now we have a rookie QB and new OC and no one knows how long this new process will take. Can the Bears win in September?

Last year they could not.

Yes, the Bears should be the most expected team to improve. How could it be otherwise? Now they need to validate those expectations on the playing field. Barring injuries, they should be able to do so. Both the Jets and Steelers could improve too if their unmentioned QBs play impressively.
