One thing that can be guaranteed when the Chicago Bears play the New York Jets is that crazy things will happen. Everybody remembers the shootout between Jay Cutler and Mark Sanchez in 2010. While this game in New York isn’t between two playoff-bound teams, it certainly didn’t lack for unexpected twists. One of the wildest came early in the 2nd quarter. The Jets lined up for a 36-yard field goal attempt. Everything was standard procedure right up until the snap of the ball. That was when chaos ensued.
On a play that was supposed to be a chip shot field goal turned into a mad scramble that included four different fumbles before the Bears ultimately recovered the ball. The rain and cold of the New York weather no doubt played a hand in that sequence. Still, those are things you don’t often see in the NFL these days. There is no winner or loser in it. Not for those who merely love football. It was pure enjoyment watching it unfold because it was ridiculous. Ultimately it came to nothing. Chicago punted shortly after, and the Jets scored a touchdown on their next drive.
I don’t know lol. The last Trestman was pretty brutal.
I’ve been watching the Bears or over thirty years and this may be the worse team I’ve ever seen.
