Chicago Bears fans have always searched for ways to watch their team when they might not be in the local area where it is always broadcasted. Many have to travel around the country for work, live in other states, or even across the oceans. That makes watching games live difficult. One of the few ways they’ve been able to do that is through NFL Sunday Ticket. There was a big problem, though. The service was only accessible via DirecTV. You needed to own one of their dishes to take advantage, making it impossible to acquire for people that may have used Dish Network, Comcast, or other entities.
It appears the NFL is ready to change that. With the DirecTV contract winding down, Commissioner Roger Goodell revealed in an interview with CNBC that the plan is to move Sunday Ticket to a streaming service. Right now, it appears three entities are bidding for the rights in ESPN, Apple, and Amazon. There is no question the service would bring lucrative revenue given how in-demand it is with football fans. Goodell and league owners will want this sorted out before the regular season. Either way, it stands to benefit Bears fans.
“I clearly believe we'll be moving to a streaming service. I think that's best for the consumers at this stage,” says NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. He joins @JBoorstin to discuss the ongoing bids for NFL media rights and more. https://t.co/415m1WvkaB pic.twitter.com/gvWewF7LfE

Chicago Bears fans no longer have to worry about TV providers.
It won’t matter who they get it from moving forward. What will matter is which streaming service they carry. There is no clarity yet on who the winning bidder will be. It’s common knowledge Amazon has wanted to get more into the NFL game. Owner Jeff Bezos has some of the deepest pockets in the world. If that is the way it goes, everybody with an Amazon Prime account will automatically have Sunday Ticket. At the same time, Disney owns ESPN. Adding such a service to their massive profile is something they’re known for doing.

Either way, the NFL must feel like it’s in a great position. They already signed a new TV deal worth billions of dollars. The same could be coming for Sunday Ticket. Some Chicago Bears fans may love this new development. Others may hate it. The fact is it’s happening and people should start preparing for the fallout to come.
Will it finally mean that I can watch the Bears games even though I am in Colorado as long as I am subscribed to the service provider carrying it?
Hell yeah!
This only goes to show that it’s a business more than it is a game.
Yahoo sports allows bears fans to watch games online for free.
Hope they still have the college student offer my son gets. He comes over and casts the games.
