We’re only eight days from the first week of football, where the Chicago Bears will face the Green Bay Packers at 3:25 PM, which is in the primetime window. In some recent news from Wisconsin, it seems like the Chicago Bears will catch a big break in their week one matchup. The Packers head coach, Matt LaFleur, said that their star outside linebacker, Rashan Gary, won’t play at full strength and will be on a “snap count” when they face the Bears next week.
“We’re going to be smart with him, knowing that this is a marathon, and working with our athletic training staff in terms of just how much volume we want to give him”
Rashan Gary Is A Difference Maker
It’s a relief for the Bears that Rashan Gary won’t be playing at full strength in the season opener. With Teven Jenkins on injured reserve for the first four weeks, the Bears’ offensive line won’t be at its best either. Having Gary on a limited snap count will reduce the pressure on Justin Fields in week 1. Gary had an impressive 81 total pressures and 10 sacks in a full season in 2021, but the Bears won’t have to deal with that as least to begin the season. This should help the offense get into a rhythm faster. Even more good news is that the Bears seem to be getting healthier, as the only player expected to miss the opener is Teven Jenkins. We’ll get a better idea next Wednesday when teams share their first injury report of the season.

I’m not as concerned about Rashan Gary as I am about Kenny Clark.
