Chicago Bears Chances Of Securing The First Pick Just Improved Greatly

-

The Chicago Bears have a high likelihood, currently at 96%, of locking in the number 1 pick this week. The Arizona Cardinals follow with the next best odds at 3%. The Bears are set to secure the top pick if the Carolina Panthers lose to the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. However, they have received two significant advantages leading up to this matchup. Firstly, starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence is anticipated to be a limited participant in Thursday’s practice, increasing the likelihood that he may start on Sunday against the Panthers.

The Carolina Panthers Are Banged Up

The Bears have another good chance of securing the number 1 spot this week, largely due to the extensive and worrisome injury list of the Panthers. Currently, the Panthers have 14 players on the injured list, including key players like Jaycee Horn and Chuba Hubbard. In the NFL, timing plays a crucial role in the outcome of games, and facing a heavily injured Panthers team seems favorable for the Bears and of course the Jaguars.

The Jaguars, who are still in the playoff race, will be playing at home against the banged up Panthers. While the unpredictability of the NFL always exists, all indications suggest a likely loss for the Panthers and a positive outcome for the Chicago Bears.

I also think the Bears could get draft choices if they allowed other teams to sign their coaches.
Look at what Denver gave up to sign Sean Payton. The Bears could get equal (or better) value for the Eberflus/Getsy combo.
You have to look at opportunities!

. I agree that Getsy had absolutely nothing to do with Rodgers success but he also had nothing to do with calling the plays for him. He was the “passing game coordinator which is just a glorified name for quarterback coach. As a matter of fact, he’s never called plays at any level. Nathaniel Hackett was the OC and play caller, another guy who had nothing to do with Rodgers success.

@slipknotz as having to post this because the reply button is broke on this site. Injuries are always key but keep in mind Carolina has every bit of motivation to win to make their trade better in hind sight. They don’t want to finish dead last and have lost their pick to pick up a guy they shouldn’t have drafted. As far as Sweat is concerned I couldn’t agree more they got a team player who balls out on every down. Bears were mocked for the “high price” but we are already seeing dividends on that unlike Claypool which was… Read more »

The fact that Lawrence is a “go” to start instills no confidence whatsoever the Jags will win. Yes you can argue he played “hurt” most of the year but did he really?! Seriously. I don’t believe half the “injury” designations week in and week out. Most are smoke screens to gain a competitive edge.

My two cents. I think Lawrence sucks and doesn’t know how to adjust with his go to guy Kirk out. We all moan and groan about Fields but if I were a Jags fan with all their talent I would be clamoring for a different QB
