Caleb Williams’ Status for the Upcoming Preseason Game Revealed

-

The Chicago Bears will face the Buffalo Bills in their second preseason game this Saturday in Buffalo. The game will start at 12 PM Central Time, but the lineup of players for both teams has not yet been announced. Last week, the Bears did not play any starters against the Houston Texans. However, there is speculation that the starters might get some playing time this week.

The biggest question is whether the number one overall pick, Caleb Williams, will make his preseason debut. According to Ben Devine, who has covered the Bears since 2009, Williams is expected to play against the Bills for about a quarter. If the offensive line is dealing with injuries, his role may be limited. Ben Devine is the first to report this news, and his track record has been reliable in the past.

We’ll provide more updates later in the week, but it looks like Bears fans might finally see their new franchise quarterback in action.

No one would notice such a small sacrifice.

Thanks, but in my situation mere prayers wouldn’t be sufficient.

Would you consider human sacrifice?

Play each of the four QBs for a quarter in this order: Rypien, Bagent, Williams, & Reed with a mix of different teamers, if the Bears 1st team OL is not established by game time due to injuries. Or simply do not play Williams against the Bills 1st team DL. It’s radical, perhaps anxious, but safer and not too demeaning.

Maybe this is a bit crazy, but perhaps the Bears wait for the Bills to take out their starting DL, keep their best 5 OL in, and then give Caleb some snaps. The backup OL against the backup DL seems like a fairer battle, and Caleb will get a chance to play real NFL snaps against another team in a somewhat game like situation.
