Caleb Williams Sends A Message On Social Media That Is Impossible To Misinterpret

-

Caleb Williams made it pretty obvious that he has a bone to pick with the media about how they handled his hamstring injury. The Chicago Bears quarterback revealed at his latest press conference that the issue was pretty severe. Enough to knock him out for almost a month of action. Yet it was reported as if he were milking the injury for sympathy from fans. That is why he bristled when asked about how bad it was. It was plain as day that Williams wasn’t happy with several people who covered the injury both during and after it happened.

He left little doubt that he hasn’t forgotten all the things that were said, either. A video was recently posted on TikTok, and the quarterback reposted it. Its message was impossible to misinterpret.

It seems plenty obvious from that Williams has been keeping receipts from all the people who called him a crybaby and soft. This is a player who thrives on being doubted. The more they shower him with insults and criticisms, the more focused he becomes. It sure sounds like Williams is set to return, and he fully intends to remind those people who he is.

Caleb Williams is a caged animal.

Remember, those outcries about him were instant and loud. They’ve been echoing in his head for weeks. On top of that, the Bears are coming off a loss to the Green Bay Packers, the team he hates the most. It shouldn’t be surprising that he is forging ahead towards a return this Sunday in Atlanta. Even if the hamstring isn’t entirely healed, the season won’t wait for him. Williams aims to win, and he can’t do that from the sideline. Pain or no pain, he fully intends to continue showing the world that he went #1 in the draft for a reason.

The Falcons present a significant challenge. They have one of the best pass rushes in the NFL and an offense stacked enough to hang 40 on you at the drop of a hat. This game feels like one Chicago can only win if they score—last week proved that Tyson Bagent can’t do that. It must be the Caleb Williams show. Everybody caught a tantalizing glimpse of what this offense could be on opening day when the Bears hung 59 on Carolina. Atlanta will be the latest testing ground to see if that was just a mirage.

One thing is certain.

Williams aims to send a message on Sunday. Hamstring or not, he will enter the Mercedes-Benz Dome as dialed in as he’s been all year. There are goals to achieve and haters to silence. It won’t be easy. Kyle Monangai won’t play this weekend, still recovering from turf toe. The defense is also ailing with three key starters out. Can Williams win the game on his right arm alone? He may have to unless Ben Johnson can get the running game clicking without Monangai, which did not happen last week.

The Bears were 4-2 last season in games where they failed to crack 100 yards rushing. So Williams has shown he can carry the team when needed. It comes with the territory of being a franchise quarterback. Never have the Bears needed that version of him more than now. The next three games might be the toughest stretch of the season. After Atlanta, they must play New England and Seattle next. If ever there was a chance for him to make a statement, it’s now.
