Caleb Williams Gets Monkey Off Chicago’s Back In Epic Fashion

-

Forget draft positioning. Nothing about the 2024 season went how the Chicago Bears wanted. However, moods could change in a big way if they somehow found a way to upset the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Everybody expected a blowout loss. It was understandable. Chicago had nothing to play for. Green Bay was fighting for playoff position. Instead, the game followed a familiar script. After leading most of the game, the Bears watched the Packers once again forge in front with under a minute to play 22-21. Nobody expected the team to answer back, if only because they haven’t for so many years. Then, Caleb Williams happened.

Despite ongoing issues with the coaching and the supporting cast, the rookie quarterback put the team on his back during the final drive. He overcame a sack and an illegal shift penalty to move the offense 47 yards in 51 seconds to give Chicago a chance at a 51-yard field goal. Cairo Santos, who’s been non-existent from that range all year, snuck it through the left upright for the improbable victory. It was the Bears’ first since 2018 against the Packers.

Caleb Williams has already shown he is not in awe of the Packers.

Justin Fields never beat Green Bay. In his first two games, Williams should be 2-0. He engineered a 4th quarter drive weeks ago at Soldier Field, setting up that first field goal attempt. Unfortunately, it was blocked. It seems rather fitting that he was given a second chance. There was nothing perfect about the game. It was cold, the coaching was suspect, and he made some questionable decisions. Still, when the Bears had to have it, Williams hit two excellent passes to Odunze and D.J. Moore to get them in position. After such a dispiriting season, this is the kind of win that can create positive momentum for the future.

It is clear the Bears finally have somebody who isn’t afraid of the Green Bay mystique. He’s a competitor and willing to go to war. There is no timidity with Caleb Williams. Put the ball in his hands with the game on the line and let him cook.

: “Now we just need to carry Ole Mo’ over to next week.”

If you mean after winning the final game against the Packers, we need to win the HC search, then from your lips (or fingers) to the football gods’ ears, buddy.

Haha! He could not get anybody face to face, you little inbred twerp. 5-12 you losers, enjoy the offseason. We Lions rule. ROAR! It’s SM baby!

Oh, that dumb-ass RoosterRider was saying Caleb was a bust just yesterday! WRONG AGAIN. You must be his son–dumb to the core. ROAR! 10-game losing streak! You really are losers compared to TGena and a few others. But we are not going anywhere, retirees. Eugenics just for you, simpletons.
