Friday marked the first full-pad practice for the Bears during training camp. With less than a week until the Hall of Fame game against the Houston Texans, the intensity at camp has increased. This heightened intensity brings more trash talk and rising tensions. Caleb Williams experienced this firsthand during Friday morning’s practice. After a run by Khalil Herbert, Demarcus Walker and Gerald Everett got into a post-play scuffle. Caleb Williams quickly stepped in, engaging in some brief jawing and broke it up. It was an eventful first day of practice in full pads.
It’s great to see the rookie quarterback showing strong leadership. It gave me some Jay Cutler vibes. However, he’s not the only one involved in some intense moments. Jaylon Johnson has also been having heated exchanges with the Bears’ offensive coaches on the sideline.
With the pads on and the intensity high, it’s clear that football is back.

I hope the reporting by Dave and Ficky is accurate. It’s one thing trashing at the coaches, but I doubt if JJ will want to take on an inspired Roschon one-on-one in the open field.
