Bruce Arians Calls Justin Fields A Rising Superstar

-

Bruce Arians retired this off-season after one of the most successful head coaching careers in recent NFL history. He finished with an 80-48-1 record, four playoff berths, and a Super Bowl championship in nine seasons. The man is one of the most well-respected in his profession. Many things stand out when looking back on his legacy, from his brash attitude to his unique motivational skills. Yet nothing tops his incredible track record with quarterbacks.

The man has worked with some of the absolute best in NFL history. It started in 1998 when he was quarterbacks coach for a young #1 pick named Peyton Manning. Six years later, he became the offensive coordinator for a rookie Ben Roethlisberger. The madness continued in 2012 when the Indianapolis Colts drafted Andrew Luck the same year he became offensive coordinator. Then he traded for Carson Palmer during his stint with the Arizona Cardinals. To cap everything off, he lured Tom Brady to Tampa Bay, where they won a championship in their first year together.

Needless to say, Arians knows quarterbacks. That is why Chicago Bears fans may love what he said when asked about the best young QBs in the NFL right now.

Bruce Arians knows what Fields can become.

He has seen that type of quarterback flourish before. Big, mobile, strong arm, and accurate down the field. Roethlisberger and Luck were the exact same types. They both reached superstar status early in their careers. It isn’t a question of talent with Justin Fields. It is about infrastructure. Can the Bears build one that allows him to flourish the way Pittsburgh did for Ben or Indianapolis did for Manning and Luck? It looks like they’re finally off on the right foot.

Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy established a system to accent Justin Fields’ strengths. He has a firm understanding of how to exploit coverages and find favorable matchups. GM Ryan Poles has also started the process of overhauling the personnel. It will take some time, but things are pointed in the right direction. Bruce Arians has faith the young quarterback will get there. It is hard not to trust what he says. Few know the position better than him.

Doubt he would be gone meaning Getsy at least till year 3 and then there has been some well known OC more accomplished that still took some years to get a HC job, so you never know. Why play the guessing game? Let’s enjoy and see at end of year where Getsy stands

I’m not really concerned about a potential Adam Gase-like situation occurring if/when Getsy leaves for a head coaching opportunity. That’s why Flus insisted on a QB coach who has familiarity with the offensive system that he wants his offenses to run. Janocko will be promoted and his position will be backfilled with another clone. Flus had a masterplan, believe me.

I say this year is too get he new players acclimated to the nfl. Next year, with a full amount of picks and Poles/scouts abilities to find diamonds in the rough, plus the $100M in cash, look out nfl for the Bears.

The issue is if/when Getsy builds a respectable offense in Chicago of all places he will be gone in under 3 year as a hc somewhere
