The Bears’ new class of rookies may not be as large as in previous years, but it certainly has some serious star power. Among the potential stars is Iowa’s punter Tory Taylor, who’s selection has created some passionate debate among fans. Taylor was picked by the Bears with the 122nd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Following his selection, Taylor received a funny text from fellow draft class member Caleb Williams. Williams message was that Taylor won’t have to punt very often in Chicago.
“Hey, you’re not going to punt too much this year.”
In a recent interview on Barstool Sports’ “The Mid Show,” Taylor confirmed receiving a text from Caleb. However, amidst all the chaos and busyness since being drafted, Taylor realized he never actually texted Williams back.
“I never actually texted him back, I got a thousands messages.. I was like oh sorry man, I completely forgot to got back to you. But yeah he seemed like a really cool dude.”
As they pointed out on the show, it’s not ideal to ignore your quarterback’s message when you first meet (in this case, it’s really not that serious). But let’s be real, it’s a hilarious story that they’ll both look back and laugh about. With the Bears rookie OTA’s coming up, it’ll be interesting to watch how this rookie class builds on their chemistry. But it looks like they’re off to a great start already!

About a week ago, I got a random text from a “Caleb W.” that said,
You have a little bit of a lazy eye.
Riveting story.
