Bears Radio Host Mercilessly Trolls Matt Eberflus While Interviewing Him

-

Matt Eberflus suffered yet another humiliation. No, we’re not talking about Sunday when his team fell at home to the 2-7 New England Patriots. It was another crap show, with the offense managing just three points and Caleb Williams getting sacked nine times. Whatever confidence this team had going into the bye week is long gone. Eberflus is getting almost all of the blame for it. He’s the head coach of the Chicago Bears. He is supposed to be the one with solutions to these problems. Instead, his presence only seems to make things worse.

People want him fired. Bears ownership won’t do that until after the season. That means Eberflus must carry on as if everything is normal. It started with his weekly phone call with ESPN 1000. Unfortunately, problems started immediately as the connection was clearly bad. It went out multiple times. Host David Kaplan, already irate over the state of the team, finally exploded with one of the best lines you’ll ever hear.

To make it even better, Eberflus canceled the interview once the call went out a third time, putting a perfect cap on the dumpster fire.

Matt Eberflus has become a joke.

That is the last thing the organization wanted. This was supposed to be the year the Bears got serious about winning. Kevin Warren keeps talking about winning championships. Ryan Poles plans to take the North and never give it back. Now, they are faced with the reality that the head coach they elected to keep is driving the team straight into a nosedive. Chicago is 4-5, losers of three straight, with the hardest remaining schedule of any team in the NFL. Does anybody believe Matt Eberflus is capable of pulling the nose up? Remember, this is the same guy who owns the longest losing streak in franchise history. There is a very real possibility they go from 4-2 to 4-13. That would be easily the biggest collapse in Bears history. Eberflus is out of people to blame for it.

@Tred and @Sam, I agree with you both. Poles IS to blame for most of this and while Flus is obviously in way over his head, he hasn’t been dealt much of a winning hand. While I like Brisker and Gordon, Stevenson is an idiot who seems to make 2 stupid plays (usually unsportsmanlike after whistles) for every good play he makes, typically extending drives for the opponent. Poles has whiffed on his O-line picks, surprisingly, and you would think when obvious great ones come along like a Joe Alt he would do what he could to lock him up.… Read more »

TGena, elite universities and colleges in the US and UK have hired the same sort of replacements in their reorganizational structures and positions.

The NFL is known to be a copycat league. The latest trend (one that has been quite successful) is to completely blow up the front office of any team suffering from long-term incompetence. Former “loser teams” such as the Lions, Vikings, Cardinals, Chargers and Commanders are the latest to benefit from a GM-down remake — that has set each team on a fresh path to the NFL playoffs. Now, before y’all tell me that the Bears couldn’t do this, because Kevin Warren the Bears’ CEO is not really a “footbsll guy” — check the facts (the background of each “former… Read more »

@Tred — If I somehow failed to respond to an opportunity to separate myself from anything that Ryan Poles.has done (since he arrived at Halas Hall and disrespected the O-line as “soft” and singled out James Daniels [a player that had gained 30 lbs., in the 2021 off-season at the direction of former Bears OL coach, Juan Castillo — who wanted Daniels at 330lbs, because Castillo favored “big-ass” linemen] and then, let Daniels “walk” because Daniels wasn’t a proper “scheme fit” [presumably the “outside zone” which the Bears still don’t run, because their personnel is simply still not a good… Read more »
