Bears Injury Report: Who’s In and Who’s Out Ahead of Rams Game

-

The Chicago Bears have released their final injury report before their upcoming game against the Los Angeles Rams. The full injury report, provided by the Bears PR team, is available below.

Takeaways

Three players are officially out: Stephen Carlson, Zacch Pickens, and Terell Smith. While none are key starters, the team will miss the depth Pickens and Smith provide at defensive line and cornerback .

Additionally, three other players are questionable: Keenan Allen, Andrew Billings, and Kevin Byard—some big names here. Allen practiced fully on Friday, and it would be surprising if he doesn’t play this week against LA. Matt Eberflus said he anticipates that Keenan Allen will play against the Rams. Both Billings and Byard were limited in Friday’s practice, and their status will likely be a game-time decision. Billings is a dominant force on the defensive line, and Byard has been crucial to the secondary, so missing either would be a blow. But Billings did speak with the media today in the locker room. He said he’s confident he’ll play Sunday and won’t be on a snap count.

One key takeaway from this injury report is that while 14 players are listed, 8 do not carry an injury designation for Sunday, including several notable players. With only three players officially ruled out, the Bears are relatively healthy compared to other teams in the league.

Health, as in life, is the most important element for a consistently winning team at a high level, regardless of depth. So enjoy it while you can. It won’t last forever, even if a team has a few great players. Well…
