Anthony Miller Has ZERO Regrets About Retaliating On Trubisky Late Hit

-

The Chicago Bears got a hard-fought win in San Francisco on Sunday. It wasn’t pretty by any stretch, but then again no team should apologize for grinding out victories in December when they tend to matter the most. Even so, things got testy between the two teams late. Never more so than when Mitch Trubisky was hit late by safety Marcell Harris. Several teammates, including Anthony Miller flew to his defense.

A massive fight broke out with the always antagonist cornerback Richard Sherman in the middle of it. Miller and fellow receiver Josh Bellamy showed little signs of intimidation, giving it right back to him. Fists flew. When the referees finally sorted things out all three of those players were ejected from the game.

Miller didn’t try to dodge reports after the win either. He calmly stood at his locker and took questions, making it clear he had zero regrets about his actions in the incident.

“I just saw Mitch’s head hit the ground real hard and I knew it was an unnecessary hit. Like, nobody had to tell me nothing to go in there, because that’s my quarterback.

He already missed a couple games because of a late hit. So when I see that, that’s like, dirty football.”

Anthony Miller knows what Trubisky means to this teams’ future

The reaction by Miller and the rest of the Bears sideline couldn’t have been surprising. Trubisky had been injured in an almost exact same situation a few weeks prior when he slid after a scramble against Minnesota only to have a safety crunch him to the ground late. It hurt his shoulder and he missed two games as a result.

Without him, the offense lost their rhythm and lacked that leadership and playmaking element. They managed to survive Thanksgiving against Detroit, but it cost them in New York with an array of turnovers and missed opportunities. It’s apparent that this team is better when Trubisky is on the field. So any time an opponent goes after him like that, they can expect a response.
