It hurts. Every time your favorite team loses. The fan base of the Chicago Bears deserves better. This team has a history of greatness. Nine NFL titles. More players are enshrined in the NFL Hall of Fame than any other franchise.
Fans haven’t seen great in Chicago for almost 30 years.
Fans of this franchise who are 35 years old or younger have not seen great. They have seen terrible football. Since 1996, the Bears have only had seven winning seasons!

The 2023 Bears team we watch each week has no identity. The offense has shown mere glimpses of what they can do. The defense plays well in stretches, then falls flat more often than not. In 1 1/2 seasons under Matt Enerflus, they have not won consecutive games. In five games after a win, the Bears have lost each game by an average of 14 points.
Sunday night, the Bears had an opportunity to win two straight games and they failed miserably. The defense didn’t get off the bus until the game was out of reach. The Chargers scored EVERY TIME they possessed the ball in the first half.
Offensively, the game plan was inept, aside from the first play of the game. The best offensive player on the field for Chicago is WR DJ Moore. Moore should have been a main feature in the game plan. He was targeted just ONE TIME in the second half! When your backup quarterback is playing, the star of the offense should have been a focal point.
Defensively, the game plan was horrific. Chargers QB Justin Herbert was seldom pressured. He was able to sit in the pocket and pick apart Eberflus’ soft zone. Herbert seldom threw the ball more than five yards beyond the line of scrimmage the entire first half, and this defense still couldn’t stop them.
The Bears were EMBARRASSED on national TV again.
News and Notes
Tremaine Edmunds injured his knee in the game. We won’t know until Wednesday, but early indications are he may miss some time.
Three of the next four games are road games. Their only home game in November is a Thursday night contest vs. the Carolina Panthers, on November 9th.
Sam K, you will be right in 5 games when the Bears will be 5-25.
Meant 5-20 record. Can’t edit posts on this shit site
Bad GM, bad roster, bad coaching = an awful regime with a 5-25 record. Clean house.
I’ve been supportive of Poles throughout his brief tenure, but from what I’ve seen so far, Poles’ draft picks and free agent signings really haven’t amounted to much more than what they had. It may be a good time for Warren to start trying to convince George McCaskey to let go of whatever his issue is with Jim Harbaugh and give him whatever he wants to coach this team back to respectability. No one else will do, because fixing this mess requires someone with a winning resume and experience, and if that includes replacing Poles, so be it.
