Adam Schefter Gives Positive Update On Bears’ Draft Projections

-

The Chicago Bears have admitted they aren’t sure what will happen when the NFL draft kicks off on April 24th. GM Ryan Poles said he hasn’t been able to pinpoint what the nine teams picking in front of him will do. That is mostly because this class is light on true blue-chip talent. That means general managers will lean on personal preference more than usual, making the prediction of picks more difficult. Adam Schefter provided some much-needed clarification on what is to come.

He informed the Pat McAfee Show of some important updates. Most expect the Tennessee Titans to take Miami quarterback Cam Ward #1 overall. There has also been a shift with Cleveland at #2, who now seem inclined to take Heisman winner Travis Hunter of Colorado. Were that to happen, it appears the New York Giants will secure Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter at #3. That leaves one huge question unanswered. Where does Colorado QB Shadeur Sanders land?

Schefter believes two teams are in play, and both would be good news for the Bears.

Adam Schefter paints a positive picture for the Bears.

If the New Orleans Saints take him at #9 overall, that ensures at least one of the non-quarterback players on Chicago’s board will slip to the #10 spot, giving them more options. On the flip side, if Sanders gets past New Orleans, that means the Bears could potentially have a very interested Pittsburgh Steelers team looking to trade up to get him. Their best quarterback at the moment is Mason Rudolph. The Aaron Rodgers wait continues, and there’s been little movement for weeks. They need a long-term solution. Are they willing to risk waiting for 11 more picks in hopes Sanders falls to them? Moving up makes more sense. Either way, what Adam Schefter revealed is notable. He predicted Michael Penix could go to Atlanta at #8 last year. This timing can’t be a coincidence.

@Sam Most of these Hyenas are too stupid to know how ignorant they are. Don’t hate them, just pity them, as I most certainly do. The Children of the Corn believe that Poles can part the Red Sea when he could not even put an OL together over three 3 3 3 Years. And cheap local Kramer (v. Kramer) is considered an asset even after he lost two games for the Bears, while his Stevenson lost one.

Everyone acts like Claypool didn’t have a few good seasons with Pittsburgh. He even burnt us several times when we had to play them. He got on his modeling and slacked on his football commitment. If you knew he would have switched up before anyone else. I say you can reinvent Miss Cleo.

We got a 6th round instead of a 4th, because Khan thought he could resign JF. Gladly, HC Glenn saw to it that they couldn’t.

I have never agreed with you more. I want to see Poles and/or faux-GM Johnson absolutely fleece PIT because I am not interested in equality, I’m hungry for revenge.

@Sam: I too was a detractor of the Fields trade. I felt Poles would have been better served waiting until the draft. Then, at pick 1.11, when the Vikings took McCarthy, Poles should have gotten on the phone with the Raiders GM, offered Fields for their first (1.12), then they both have a good laugh, and then Poles says, seriously, let’s talk about trading for Fields later in the draft, after you make your pick at 1.12. Probably could have gotten a 3rd for him, and I think the Raiders were a team that Fields was interested in going to.… Read more »

Dr. M… it wasn’t just the Claypool trade that he made with Pgh was it? Poles got less for Fields, in the Pgh trade, than Philly got for fk’n Kenny Pickett. I know u love u some Poles.. but let’s not pretend it was just one terrible trade with them. Yes the Panthers trade worked out. That has absolutely nothing to do with my comment that was specific to Pgh. But thanks.
