Chicago Cubs fans get to see him all the time, but after breaking out in the 2016 postseason on the national stage, Javier Baez continues to be amazing in front of an international audience at the World Baseball Classic.
The Cubs have arguably the best middle infield in MLB with Addison Russell and Baez, but team Puerto Rico’s double-play combo of Francisco Lindor and Baez is baseball porn. On Saturday, the dazzling infielders battered Mexico’s pitchers with three home runs. Two came off the bat of Lindor and then Baez belted a three-run moonshot in the ninth inning to put his country well ahead at 9-4.

The home run was awesome, the reaction from Baez after crushing the ball was even better.

Taking a page out of Ben Zobrist’s playbook. Either that, or Baez saw Jake Arrieta’s recent comments about home run celebrations.
Anyway, Baez is unstoppable and he keeps doing Javy Baez things with Puerto Rico in the WBC.
By the way, Javier Baez is still doing Javier Baez things for Puerto Rico. pic.twitter.com/aNhQcB8NGs

Javier Baez, electric factory.
By the way, not really a fan of the WBC, but that Dominican Republic vs. USA game Saturday night was outstanding. The atmosphere and emotion of October baseball in the middle of March. Can’t do much better than that.
Back-to-back dingers off Andrew fucking Miller to erase a 5-0 deficit. Absolutely nuts, with Dominican Republic fans going crazy in Miami.

Complete pandemonium. Loved watching it.
