The Chicago Cubs and Jake Arrieta have agreed to a one-year deal, avoiding an arbitration hearing for the 2015 Cy Young winner and 2016 World Series champion.
Arrieta, 30, will be a free agent after the 2017 season. After making a little more than $10 million last year, Arrieta gets another raise, agreeing to a $15.6375 million salary for the upcoming season, according to Jon Heyman.
