White Sox Bold Predictions That Could Change Everything In 2025

-

White Sox fans don’t have much to look forward to this season, as the White Sox are likely to be one of the worst teams in the major leagues again. However, the development of the prospects in the minor leagues, as well as the younger guys in the major leagues will be the one storyline to follow, as many younger players will look to make their major league debut this season.

Despite the fact there won’t be much to look forward to, there will still be some surprising storylines, as there will be players that perform better than we expect they will. Let’s take a look at some bold predictions for the White Sox in 2025.

Davis Martin Nets The White Sox Two Top Five Prospects

Davis Martin is likely to be one of the better pitchers in the White Sox rotation, as he looked very good last season when he returned from his Tommy John surgery. In 50 innings (10 starts), Martin had a very solid 4.32 ERA and looked dominant at times with his devastating changeup.

This is even more impressive than you’d think, as most players struggle in their first action back from Tommy John. However, Martin still put up some very solid numbers. Now, with a full offseason where he’s healthy, he could be a very solid 2-3 starter for the White Sox.

If, come August, Martin has put together 20 starts of high 3 or low 4 ERA baseball, a team looking for more starting pitcher could come calling. Martin has five plus years left on his contract, making him even more attractive for a team, as they wouldn’t be giving up a lot for just a rental.

Due to what would be a solid season and a ton of team control could net the White Sox a haul. The White Sox have an abundance of pitching prospects, so they will eventually have to move some to get some bats in the organization, as that is where they’re weak. A team at the deadline could give the White Sox just that, as teams love getting controllable pitching, and with Martin being 28, the White Sox could be interested in moving him.

Kyle Teel Wins Rookie Of The Year

This one might not be as bold, as Kyle Teel is a top 100-prospect, but with the White Sox history developing prospects, you never know. However, Teel will look to break that mold, as he could challenge for the award.

Teel would need a significant amount of playing time, so if he doesn’t make the team out of Spring Training, he would likely have to come up within a month or so. However, that is pretty likely, as he already played very well at AAA last season and has looked solid in Spring Training so far.

Kyle Teel even took Roki Sasaki deep in the B game a few days ago, so he definitely can handle quality pitching. Teel is 0 for 3 in the real games so far, but he has drawn three walks, showing off his major league plate discipline.

Last year Teel hit .288 with a .386 OBP and 13 homeruns and 78 RBIs between AA and AAA. If he can do anything similar to that with some solid defense behind the plate, he could easily be a Rookie of the Year candidate, and if he wins, he would get the White Sox an extra 1st round pick in the 2026 MLB draft.

While these are bold predictions, they could easily happen. If they do, it could help the White Sox out significantly, as they would have a significantly deeper farm system plus their catcher of the future.
