The Chicago Bears hired Press Taylor as their new passing game coordinator last week. This likely came on the recommendation of Zac Taylor, the Cincinnati Bengals head coach. He and Ben Johnson share a relationship from their four seasons together on the Miami Dolphins staff. It made sense. Taylor had a reputation for being a good quarterbacks coach from his time with the Philadelphia Eagles. However, his three years with the Jacksonville Jaguars as their offensive coordinator didn’t go well. So inevitably, Jaguars fans blasted the Bears for their hire, trolling them in every way imaginable.
Well, what goes around comes around. Jacksonville found out on Thursday that their Jaguars are hiring former Bears offensive coordinator Shane Waldron as their passing game coordinator. Waldron arrived in 2024 to coach up Caleb Williams and did such a poor job that he was fired midway through the season. For all the grief Taylor gets, he at least produced a top-10 offense in 2022 and lasted three seasons. Waldron was so bad he couldn’t even manage a third of that.
Chicago Bears fans now have their ammunition to fire back.
They at least have good cause to hire Taylor. He won a Super Bowl in Philadelphia and got two good years from Carson Wentz as a quarterbacks coach. He won a playoff game in 2022 with Trevor Lawrence playing pretty well. While things did eventually spiral out of control, he did find some success. Waldron? Hindsight proves he benefitted from riding the coattails of two outstanding head coaches, Sean McVay and Pete Carroll. Once left on his own in Chicago, he got exposed in a hurry. Jacksonville should feel fortunate that Liam Coen is the one calling the shots. If we’re talking about who got the better end of this swap, though, it feels like the Bears did. If nothing else, they have no leverage to speak of anymore.

Well guessing Cunningham is no longer interested in Jacksonville. How smart is Coen if he hired Waldron. Who’s his next hire? Getsy

It’s not an affront to Virginia, or any of her family, at this time to simply state the truth about how cussing in public has been frowned upon by the elder members of the family. Is it too soon? I don’t know, but it’s certainly not worth a “I can’t stand people like you”. That’s a bit sanctimonious isn’t it?
