If there’s one thing I love about the Bears, it’s that the team always seems to generate offseason rumors or news, no matter what. This year, it’s starting earlier than usual since the Bears have already been eliminated from playoff contention and don’t have much left to play for. Interestingly, Bovada Sportsbook lists the Bears as one of the betting favorites to trade for New York Jets superstar wide receiver Garrett Wilson during the 2025 offseason.
Trade speculation about Wilson began after Jets practice on December 19, when a reporter asked him in the locker room if he’d want to stay with the Jets if offered a long-term contract. The 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year didn’t provide a clear answer, fueling questions about his future.
"I love the Jets. At the end of the day, they were the ones that believed in me. I can't be worrying about all that. Just going to finish these three games the right way."

“Uh, I don’t know, man.. I just do whatever, go about my day, be where my feet at. And if they do [offer me an extension], that would be a blessing.. I can’t be worrying about all that. Just going to finish these three games the right way, but I don’t know, man. I can’t be looking into all that right now.”
Garrett Wilson is not coming to Chicago.
The Bears are highly unlikely to trade for a wide receiver. They extended DJ Moore this past offseason and drafted Rome Odunze in the top 10, who has had a solid rookie year. Keenan Allen, while inconsistent this season, has been a reliable target for rookie quarterback Caleb Williams despite some issues with drops. Given the current state of their roster, the wide receiver position is not a top priority for the Bears, especially not through a major move like trading for Wilson.

Instead, General Manager Ryan Poles is expected to focus on improving the trenches via the draft and free agency. Protecting Caleb Williams—who leads the NFL in sacks taken—is a far greater need than spending assets on a luxury like Wilson. Trading away valuable resources to make such a move simply doesn’t make sense for Chicago.
Keenan Allen Extension is more logical
Keenan Allen has expressed interest in either staying with the Bears or returning to the Chargers next season. However, he has shown a clear preference for running it back in Chicago with Caleb Williams.

Retaining Allen would provide continuity and value without sacrificing draft capital. The Bears could also consider adding a low-cost speedster to replace Tyler Scott, either through a late-round draft pick or a budget-friendly free agent signing. While rumors may suggest the Bears are in the running for Garrett Wilson, this is not going to happen. You can count on that.

Who could have predicted this reversal of fortunes. I guess I am a change agent to be worshiped and remembered forever.
What a garbage article. Sally bullshittery in full force today. Stonehenge? More like stonesinthehead….
Not sure where this Wilson to the Bears crap started, but it’s good to see that both Dave and the rest of us here are pretty sure it won’t happen. Now, Wilson to the Chiefs, I could see that. Buffalo would also make sense, but I doubt the Jets want to trade him in the division. Next, ….
I’d like to see Collin Johnson get some reps, especially in the red zone. He has a large catch radius.
It wasn’t Scott that T Rexed the ball in the endzone on MNF.
