The Chicago Bears are already getting trade interest for running back Khalil Herbert. That was made clear when a report indicated the Minnesota Vikings made a run at him before opting for Cam Akers instead. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network indicated in a recent column that other teams are likely to explore the idea before the November 5th deadline. It turns out he won’t be the only one. Another prominent name on the offensive side of the ball also has the attention of other teams.

After months of injury setbacks and questions about his effort, it seems the Bears finally reached a breaking point with Davis a couple of weeks ago when they replaced him with Matt Pryor. He was a healthy scratch in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars and appears to have been supplanted in the rotation by Bill Murray. Head coach Matt Eberflus hasn’t disguised his frustration with the veteran guard. It appears other teams can sense this and are ready to offer the Bears something for him.
Chicago Bears have experience trading useless pieces.
GM Ryan Poles is something of an expert at it. Former pass rusher Robert Quinn had zero value by the deadline in 2022. Even so, the Chicago Bears got a 4th round pick for him from the Philadelphia Eagles. A year later, they shipped wide receiver Chase Claypool to Miami for a 6th round pick. Anybody who says there is no way they can get anything for Davis hasn’t been paying attention. There is always at least one or two teams who think their coaching staff and culture are well-equipped to handle a problematic player. It doesn’t matter to the Bears at this point. The only thing they care about is getting Davis out of there. Odds are they will have to eat his remaining money for this season to facilitate any deal.
Remember teams are not looking at Davis as a starter or solution to their OL needs but as a depth piece.
On the other hand, with so many RBs banged up, Herbert could offer solid starting carries based on his 4.6 yard avg.
Only makes sense to get what you can out of players that have failed on the team.

They’ll gladly take a 8th rounder for Davis lazy ass. That’s how bad is actually is for this team. Rather give him away for free then keep this poison around the locker room. How can you call yourself a professional when you refuse to practice or participate in mandatory camps? The entitlement some of these players have is crazy, rather then be grateful and appreciate the opportunity you have. To be a professional bench warmer in the NFL, I’d still give everything I had every single day.
Robert Quinn had zero trade value at the deadline? The year after he set the Bear’s season record for sacks with 18.5? And just because he had only 1 sack in Alan Williams / Eberflus horrific attempt at an NFL defense in year one, not a single team wanted him?
LMAO. There were a lot of analysts who thought he’d bring back a 2nd, or a 3rd and a 5th at the time. Poles probably did the deal with the Eagles for the 4th because Cunningham knew that front office and it was easy to get a deal done quickly.
