The Chicago Bears could be busy at the trade deadline on November 5th. GM Ryan Poles has never been shy about acquiring players he thinks can help his team win. With the Bears 4-2, he may feel this is a great time to give them one more push. However, the extent of the work may not end there. It is possible Poles could have designs on shipping one or two players currently on the roster out of town. Poles has done it before, but never at the deadline. This would be a shift in policy.
Dianna Russini of The Athletic has sent feelers around the league identifying players who might be on the move in the next couple of weeks. The feedback has been interesting. It sounds like this deadline will be all about the wide receivers, with several big names potentially on the move. Amari Cooper and Davante Adams were already sent elsewhere. Cleveland pass rusher Za’Darius Smith is also in play. Yet the most interesting part is that not one but two names could be on the move from Chicago.
The trade deadline is 17 days away; many around the league are keeping any eye on these names:
Panthers QB Bryce Young and WRs Diontae Johnson, Jonathan Mingo and Adam Thielen
49ers WR Deebo Samuel
Bears RB Khalil Herbert and DE Dom Robinson
Titans WRs Treylon Burks and DeAndre Hopkins
Browns DE Za’Darius Smith
The Chicago Bears have every reason to make those deals.
Minnesota already tried to make a play for Khalil Herbert this past week. Poles didn’t seem interested in such an idea, raising the price to the point where the Vikings decided to look elsewhere. Yet it was a clear indication that the running back is on the market. If the right team comes forward with an offer, the Bears may decide to send him somewhere he might be a better fit. They haven’t used Herbert in weeks. It is clear Shane Waldron’s scheme doesn’t mesh with his style of play.
The far bigger surprise is Dominique Robinson. Chicago’s former 5th round pick has yet to play a snap this season. His failure to progress as a pass rusher since collecting 1.5 sacks in his 2022 debut forced the Chicago Bears to seek other options like Montez Sweat and Darrell Taylor. Together with the arrival of rookie Austin Booker, Robinson hasn’t found any way to see action. Perhaps other teams feel he’s being underutilized. He has 20 pressures in 439 career snaps.

I skimmed, but that DE Dom Robinson seems interesting. I have not heard of him, but I would trade for him. Upside.
I know Velus Jones hasn’t played, but there’s a guy I would trade if anyone wanted him.
Dominique Robinson for Chase Claypool, Alex Leatherwood, and a bag o’ chips.
Sounds like GM, Ryan Poles being fleeced — in both directions.
Khalil and Dom are not even close to the same level, talent-wise; maybe not potential-wise as well.
