The Latest Jayden Daniels Update From Adam Schefter Isn’t Great

-

The Chicago Bears have a chance to push their record to 5-2 this week with a fourth straight win. It won’t be easy. Their opponent is the Washington Commanders, who have been one of the hottest teams in the NFL. Their offense is averaging well over 30 points per game and they’ve won several of their games in blowout fashion. It is easily the toughest test of the season for the Bears, especially with how rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has played. Many believe he is the heavy favorite for Rookie of the Year.

However, the highly anticipated matchup between him and Caleb Williams appears in danger. Daniels left last Sunday’s game against Carolina early due to a rib injury. He didn’t return. Some believe that was merely a precaution since the Commanders were winning comfortably. However, a new update from Adam Schefter on the Pat McAfee Show didn’t sound overly encouraging.

Jayden Daniels faces a stiff challenge.

Both decisions in front of him aren’t ideal. If he chooses to play next Sunday, he won’t be 100%. Rib injuries are notorious for being highly painful, even when they aren’t broken. Several muscles are attached to the area. Any kind of movement can create problems. If the Commanders choose to play it safe and rest him, they must face a strong Bears defense with backup Marcus Mariota taking the snaps. Mariota played well in relief against Carolina, but the Panthers are far from the same level. Washington needs Jayden Daniels if they want a solid chance to defend their home turf. If he is out, it presents a golden opportunity for Chicago to steal one.

If anybody has dealt with a rib injury, they would know throwing a football would have to hurt like hell. I think could beat straight up with Daniels healthy. Sure, Washington is scoring over 30 points a game but that’s not against the Bears defense. Throw in Tory and the scoring goes down a few points more. Bears are going to score over 30 against them so Bears win.

Hey Ralph, come on over to the dark side and be an official male lion. You are in first place on this thread. I now feel my spot is being threatened. Tolerance, truth, justice, and healthy critical thinking will not be popular on this site. Dare to speak out though.

We’re going to know by the end of this year which way Poles’ rebuild is going. Rebuilds either take off, and gain momentum, or they stall and start backsliding when the regime’s first draft gets resigned.

We’ll see. Fingers crossed.

If he truly is week to week, he isn’t playing this week. That’s fine; beat who is in front of you. Who gives sh*t what the national pundits are saying. Keep winning, keep playing great D, and putting up big points. It is hard to stop a team when they are confident and rolling, no matter who they are playing!
