Former Bears Player Reveals Troubling Facts About Justin Fields Time in Chicago

-

Since Justin Fields time with the Chicago Bears ended in March, there have been numerous stories about him and the organization—some positive, others less so. This is common in sports. However, in a recent interview on the “Bring the Juice” podcast, former Bears cornerback Davontae Harris shared some intriguing insights about Fields and the team. Harris, who played with Fields and the Bears in 2022 when the team had the NFL’s worst record at 3-14, provided the following perspective.

“Justin’s one of the most down to Earth people in the world. The job was never not his. I think it’s a matter of what he makes it, and I’ve been around him. He’s gonna turn it into an opportunity. There he can be a star [in Pittsburgh]. Obviously in Chicago he could too but when I was in Chicago they were playing to lose.. when they’re planning to lose, it doesn’t matter what you do.

Did the Bears intentionally lose games?

These are serious accusations, but considering this is about the 2022 season, they might be plausible. That team was very bad. However, football is a sport where it’s difficult to get players to “tank” because they play for contracts, pride, and many other reasons. I don’t believe the Bears intentionally played to lose. I think the 2022 roster simply wasn’t very talented, which unfortunately hindered Justin Fields’ development in the NFL. The Bears failed Justin, and I will always believe that, regardless of what others say.

If there is a written rigged system in the NFL, and I’ve heard/read there is but don’t know what/how/proof or whatever, then I would quit watching. If a team actually tanked, like on purpose (not the players morally quitting) then I would also quit watching. With Justin Fields, I don’t know where the ‘sheep’ get this idea that ‘The Bears did him dirty” – GTFOH – I watched, re-watched and re-watched AGAIN some games again to see MISSED opportunity after missed opportunity. Mooney gets 1000 yards one season then 3 or 400 the next when Moore arrived? No, JF can… Read more »

So where are the troubling facts? Maybe it’s that Fields was/is a down to earth guy or maybe that he works hard to get better?

Did the Bears do him dirty, hell yeah they did. But if the 2022 team didn’t think they were playing to lose I’d be REALLY surprised. That team had no talent, had traded away anything they could for whatever they could get. These guys aren’t dumb jocks, they had to see the writing on the wall. That team was designed to lose. Unfortunately for Fields, he was also kept on with upper management laser focused on Caleb since the rebuild began.

Call it what you want. The Bears and Poles are doing it right. The Bears are better at every position group, with one major question mark. And that’s QB. Simply because their QB is an unknown at the moment. So far, the plan is looking good for them. Justin Fields is the past.
